By profession Russian translator, by passion photographer and cinematographer.

  • Graduate of the translation specialisation of Russian Institute of University of Lodz; scholar of Pushkin State Russian language Institute in Moscow.
  • Winner of various prizes and honours including The Scholarship Of Minister of Science and Higher Education, The Rector’s Scholarship of University of Lodz, Summa Cum Laude, etc.

I have a special interest in intersemiotic (audiovisual) translation.

In the beginning for me there were only images, cinema and Russia.

In 2011 I set off with my camera on a journey through Russia and Asia to the Indochinese Peninsula. This was my first real contact with photography and a long awaited moment, in which I would be able to cling to places and things I only had dealt with hypothetically to that day.

The multiplicity of mystical, good and bad stories that fill these far away lands and wander around their inhabitants permeated me forever.

I think cinematically. I like to observe the moments, when the time extends and I want to tell about them, translating words into images.

I am interested in light and music. To me the latter seems to be organic with the image and visible on its own.

I know little about myself and in the moment I start to seek who am I, I stop to be free.

Sometimes I am disconnected as a stray button.

I like to watch others, listen to stories of their fates.

I want to do in life, what I believe in, and I do believe in cinema.

I will gladly take part in any project akin to my passions.
